The short version
- I collect the minimum I need to run your account and your subscription — your name, email, and what you've bought.
- No student data is ever sent to an AI. No feature calls a live AI model at all.
- In-progress report card drafts are saved to your signed-in account until you clear the comment or remove the student and that change finishes syncing. Class setup asks for first names only.
- I never sell your information, and I never share it for advertising.
- You can see, correct, or delete your information any time — just ask.
This policy explains how Mrs. P Creations ("I," "me," "the site") handles personal information across mrspcreations.ca and The Modern Teacher portal (themodernteacher.ca). It's written to follow Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA) and to be honest about a business built by one teacher. If anything here isn't clear, email me and I'll give you a straight answer.
What I collect
Only what's needed to give you an account, take a payment, and keep the tools working:
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign up, plus your role or grade band and (optionally) your school board if you choose to share it.
- Payment information — handled by Stripe, my payment processor. Stripe collects your card details directly; I never see or store your full card number. I keep a record of what you purchased and your subscription status.
- What you create in the tools — the plans, notes, trackers, and settings you build inside The Modern Teacher, stored so they're there when you come back.
- Newsletter sign-ups — if you join the mailing list, your email and any details you add to the form.
- Basic technical data — standard server logs and the minimum needed to keep you signed in and the site secure. Vercel Web Analytics also counts page views, visitors, and referring sites without advertising cookies or building a cross-site profile. I don't run advertising trackers or sell analytics profiles.
Your students' data — the part that matters most
This is a deliberate architecture choice, not a feature I might change later:
- No student data goes to any AI. No tool calls a live AI model, and nothing about your students is ever sent to a third-party AI service. The Report Card Comment Builder works from a library of comments written by a teacher, by hand — not generated on the fly.
- You control saved report card drafts. An in-progress draft is saved with the student you selected in your signed-in account, so you can return to it on another device. Its comment text is removed when you choose Clear comment or remove that student from your class list and the change finishes syncing. A small deletion marker may remain so an older open tab cannot restore the cleared comment; it contains no comment text.
- The Modern Teacher is designed to keep student information limited. We recommend using first names or initials and reviewing any guidance your school or board provides for classroom digital tools.
What you type about your class stays yours. These drafts support the tool's save-and-return feature; they are not used to train AI or sent to an AI service.
How I use your information
- To create and run your account and your subscription or purchases.
- To process payments and send receipts through Stripe.
- To save your work in the tools so it's there next time.
- To send you essential account emails — sign-in links, receipts, and important changes.
- To send the newsletter, only if you signed up, and you can unsubscribe any time.
- To keep the site secure and fix problems.
I don't use your information for advertising, and I don't build a profile of you to sell.
Who I share it with
I don't sell your information. I share it only with the service providers that make the site run, and only as much as each one needs:
- Stripe — payments and billing.
- Supabase — the database that stores your account and your work.
- Vercel — hosting for the website and portal, plus cookieless counts of page views, visitors, and referring sites through Vercel Web Analytics.
- Resend — sending account, purchase, and service emails.
- MailerLite — keeping and sending the newsletter list you chose to join.
Each of these is an established provider with its own privacy commitments. I may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it — but never for marketing, and never quietly.
Storage & security
Your data is stored with the providers above, which may process it on servers outside Canada (for example, in the United States). Access is protected by sign-in, and payment card details live with Stripe, not with me. No system is perfectly secure, but I keep what I collect small on purpose — the less there is, the less there is to protect. I keep your information for as long as you have an account. If you ask me to delete it, your classroom work and account profile are erased. A short-lived anonymous suppression fingerprint may remain for up to 30 days so a delayed payment notice cannot put your deleted email back; it cannot be used to contact you. Financial transaction records may be kept for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to when Canadian tax rules require it; the app removes their direct account link and email, and they are not used for marketing.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you can:
- Ask what personal information I hold about you.
- Ask me to correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask me to delete your information and close your account.
- Withdraw consent for the newsletter or optional data any time.
Email me at hello@mrspcreations.ca and I'll take care of it. A real person reads that inbox.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings. Vercel Web Analytics does not use advertising cookies or follow you across other websites. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. If a consent banner ever becomes necessary, it will default to the most privacy-protecting option.
Children
Mrs. P Creations is a tool for teachers, not for children — the products are meant to be used by educators, and accounts are for adults. As above, the tools are built to hold as little student information as possible, first names only, and never to send it to an AI.
Changes to this policy
As the business grows, this policy may be updated. When it changes in a way that matters, I'll update the date at the top and, for anything significant, let account holders know. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
